How to Accessorize

Even if you're used to wearing jeans and t-shirts, you can make yourself stand out from the rest by putting the right accessories. It is one great way to add excitement to your boring or dull get up. Just be a little creative, bold and confident and you'll surely get the hang of it.

Establish your own style and be unique! Some people may compliment you with your impeccable taste and uniqueness while some will not like it at all. Remember, do not OVERDO and make it match all the time.

Here are some wonderful tips from wikiHOW. Read on and have fun!

1. Start with one of your basic outfits, preferably something you feel confident and attractive in. Jeans and a solid shirt is a great blank canvas.

2. Consider your shirt. Is there anything you can do to make it more interesting? Layering shirts is a good way to start. Try one of the following techniques:
* Wear a long tanktop under a second, slightly shorter shirt. This allows the tanktop to peek out under the bottom, and at the top if the second shirt is low-cut. V-neck shirts look great over a tank top.
* Layer two longsleeved shirts, and cuff the sleeves of the bottom shirt over the top one.
* Wear an unbuttoned or partially unbuttoned blouse over a complementary tanktop.
* Wear a tanktop or shortsleeved shirt over a longsleeved shirt. This look is funky and youthful, but make sure the shirt underneath is not too baggy, or it will wrinkle weirdly.

3. Take a look at your pants. For a different look, cuff them once or twice into capris and wear a pair of bright knee-socks underneath. If you want to permanently make your jeans more exciting, try embellishing them. Use fabric scraps, silk-screening, or embroidery to make them look chic and handmade.

4. Find some pieces of complementary jewelry. If you want to look trendy, go with something bold -- try a chunky beaded necklace. (Bigger beads are slimming and instantly spice up any outfit.) Pick a pair of matching earrings and throw on some bangly bracelets. Jewelry is easy and makes any outfit look more thought-out and stylish.

5. Try a belt or a pair of interesting socks. These will be subtle, but when they peek out it will pleasantly surprise people.

6. Do something nice with your hair. Put in a few matching clips, or wear a cute headband with a bun or ponytail.

7. Put on shoes and a jacket. Flats or boots are a comfortable way to add style to any outfit. A slightly cropped hoodie looks great over layered shirts, or under a hoodless jacket. If you want to look a little more classy, a blazer is perfect. Now you're ready to go!

For The Love of Fashion

LV, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Dior, oh my! I love fashion. I love talking about it, I love reading fashion magazines, I love buying fashionable clothes, I guess you can call me a self-confessed shopaholic. I love everything about it - from clothes to shoes to accessories!

When I was a lot younger, I wanted to become a fashion designer. I remember my childhood days, I used to play this sort of Little Miss Universe contest with some of my friends and younger cousins, I would have them wear long gowns I made up from bed sheets and blankets, with matching hair and make up. LOL. That was a lot of fun. I can't forget seeing those lovely smiles on their face while gliding through the floor as if they were real life beauty queens and models.

I honestly and truthfully can say that I can be very creative. Maybe, if I had taken fashion designing or interior designing, instead of Engineering, things are probably a lot different. If you also find yourself trapped in doing something that's really not your forte, there's still time to pursue your dreams.
